This resort immediately became one of my favorite resorts in the Cancun area and gave me a great impression on the Hyatt brand. I could not wait to see what all the resort had to offer.
Arrival & Impressions Of Zilara
From the moment you arrive, Zilara makes an impression. The lobby and arrival experience are designed to feel gateway-like — airy, with local touches in décor and a sense of openness. Many guests comment on the warm, attentive staff and the sense that “the vacation begins from the first step.”
Check-in is at 3:00 PM (with check-out at noon), but I was able to check-in at 9AM because I took a early flight in Cancun. Although my room was not ready, the staff was accommodating with drinks and smiles. The staff held my bags and allowed me to explore and begin my vacation with all their amenities as my room was getting ready. When my room was ready, I was contacted by the concierge services via the WhatsApp and brought to my room. On my first visit, I went a little extra and got myself a Ocean View Swim-out Suite. One of the hallmarks of Zilara is that every room is a suite (rather than traditional hotel rooms) — so you get more space, more comfort, and extra amenities as part of the standard offer.
Suites & Accommodations
The suites here combine elegance with function — private terraces or balconies, plush bedding, luxurious bathrooms (some with jetted tubs), and in many cases, views or access to water features such as infinity pools or swim-up elements.
A daily-restocked minibar, 24-hour room service, and a selection of creature comforts (bathrobes, slippers, etc.) are standard. The décor aims to strike a balance: comfortable and modern without being too flashy, allowing the natural surroundings (sunlight, sea breezes) to shine.
Rooms tend to be very clean and well-maintained, though a few guests mention that some furnishings or finishes feel due for an update — not uncommon in popular resorts with high turnover.
Dining, Drinks & Culinary Experience
One of Hyatt Zilara’s greatest strengths is its food and drink offering. Because it’s all-inclusive, meals and many drinks are bundled into your nightly rate.
The resort features six gourmet à la carte restaurants, plus buffets, lounges, and bars. Guests rave about the variety — from international flavors to local Mexican cuisine — and the consistent quality. Given the inclusive setup, many guests feel empowered to experiment, trying different restaurants and dishes each night.
Bars and lounges are well integrated. Whether you prefer a casual poolside cocktail or something more refined in the evening, the resort ensures options. Top-shelf liquors are often part of the all-inclusive model.
One nice touch: mixology or wine/spirits tasting events are sometimes organized.
Pools, Beach & Outdoor Spaces
Zilara’s outdoor spaces are designed to maximize relaxation and the resort’s tropical setting. It has multiple outdoor pools, including infinity pools, swim-up features, and cabana service. The beach is wide and beautiful, with plenty of sun loungers, umbrellas, and attentive service from staff. Also… make sure to read their daily activities section on their app! The Foam PARTIES are absolutely amazing and best part of the pool!
Enhanced beach and pool butler service is a highlight — meaning that you don’t have to get up to fetch towels, drinks, or extra amenities.
For those who enjoy water activities, non-motorized sports are frequently included: paddleboarding, snorkeling, etc.
Because of its location on the hotel strip, the horizon view is open and dramatic — perfect for sunrise or sunset photography.
Wellness, Spa & Activities
Relaxation is a big draw at Zilara. The Zen Spa (which includes hydrotherapy circuits) is one of the resort’s anchor features.
Treatments range from massages and facials to more locally inspired body therapies. Mediating between active and restful, there are fitness facilities (gym), yoga or wellness classes, and structured daily activity programs.
Live entertainment in the evenings is also part of the rhythm — performances, cultural shows, music, and themed nights ensure the resort doesn’t go quiet after dark.
Service & Staff
One repeatedly emphasized aspect in guest reviews is the service quality. Many mention staff going above and beyond, remembering names, catering to small preferences, or making impromptu suggestions. In general, the staff is described as friendly, helpful, and attentive without being intrusive. They Hyatt Zilara employees will greet you by placing their right hand over their heart, nodding there head forward, and give you the appropriate greeting. A true representation of their phrase, “Service from the Heart”.
